Multibeam is a self-expanding nitinol plug occlusion device. The plug delivered via a microcatheter, redefines therapy for mechanical embolization of the peripheral vasculature. This innovative solution navigates smooth-ly even in tortuous anatomy and is designed as a single occlusion device.
The Multibeam Catheter System is a self-expanding occlusion device. The catheter is oval-shaped, made of nitinol, and secured at both ends with platinum marker bands. The catheter has a partial coating of PTFE. The proximal marker band is connected to a wire that pushes the device into the desired treatment area with the aid of a commercially available microcatheter. The “conduction wire” is mechanically separated from the catheter. It is packaged within the system as a single unit with an introducer sheath and detachable lead wire. The system is supplied sterile and should be used only once.
