Stena
Stent System Peripheral Modulator Flow Diverter

Stena Stent System Peripheral Modulator Flow Diverter is intended for or endovascular treatment of patients with unruptured peripheral artery aneurysms with morphology suitable for endovascular repair. Its enlarged ends promote compliance with the aortic wall and provide optimum sealing at both proximal and distal landing sites to prevent the risk of type I and III leaks.

The stent is made of superalloy biomedical wire with a self-expandable system, knitted in a multi-layer tubular mesh structure. This design structure allows the stent to be flexible, conformable, and self-expanding. The stent has radiopaque markers made of tantalum at both ends. The transmission system is compatible with a 0.035” guide wire.

Detailed specifications

Provides physiological remodeling and healing of the aneurysmal artery while maintaining branch vessel patency and improving perfusion.

It performs endothelialization and integration as it allows the creation of endothelial tissue on the braided structure.

WHY Stena STENT

  • Descriptive technology with Multilayer Flow Modulator stents is emerging as an alternative to immediate aneurysm exclusion and is an unusual concept for the treatment of aneurysm disease.
  • Stena Stents are self-expanding network structures consisting of alloyed wires connected in 5 layers. They are highly flexible devices with high bending and fatigue resistance and low overall porosity due to their interlocking layers.
  • The Stena Stent has the advantage of being simple and easy to deploy, and its minimal invasiveness allows for a negligible impact on patients' comorbid conditions, making it ideal for use in high-risk polymorbid patients.

Turbulent flows due to the applied shear stress damage the arterial wall and cause aneurysm development.

- According to the Bernouilli principle, Multilayer Flow Modulator technology eliminates turbulent flows and laminates blood flow, allowing even more:

  • Stabilization and/or reduction of aneurysm size
  • It increases the physiological thrombus
  • Provides protection for branch opening

The structure directs the blood flow to the natural side branches and slows the flow eddies within the aneurysm sac, thus laminating the blood flow. Thanks to this flow modulation mechanism, it treats the aneurysm rather than excluding it.
