IONM continuously monitors neural function during spine and cranial surgery to detect and prevent neurological injury. It includes somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP), motor evoked potentials (MEP), and electromyography (EMG).
Cranial fixation includes titanium and platinum plates for securing bone flaps after craniotomy, repairing cranial defects, and stabilizing cranioplasty reconstructions. Materials are chosen for biocompatibility and MRI compatibility.
Percutaneous disc decompression uses minimally invasive techniques (mechanical or radiofrequency) to reduce intradiscal pressure in contained disc herniations. It provides pain relief without open surgery in selected patients.
Everyday activity and desk work often resume within one to two weeks, but the bony fusion matures over three to six months, during which heavy exertion is limited. A single fused level causes little noticeable loss of overall neck motion.
